Spotlight shone on statistics on income, earnings and wealth
Lucrative executive pay packages, the geography of disadvantage and census tests of questions on earnings will be among the topics in the spotlight at the annual conference of the Royal Statistical Society’s Statistics User Forum on 15 November 2007 from 10am to 5pm.
The conference will be opened by Sir Michael Scholar, who was recently appointed as Chairman of the new Statistics Board to be set up under the newly passed Statistics and Registration Service Act. The Act formally establishes the independence of the UK official statistical system from government.
Among the other topics to be discussed are the use of information collected by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, the added value of commercial data, the links between education and family income and recent developments in the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings.
The conference takes place at the premises of the Royal Society, 6 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AG. Full conference details are available at www.rss.org.uk/sufconference
