About NGC

NGC aims to scrutinise Government proposals in the field of Education and to voice the views of our members to Government, Local Government and other bodies. We can look back to successful lobbying in a number of instances which has changed proposed legislation.

NGC has as its membership local Associations of Governing Bodies based in Local Education Authority areas. School Governing Bodies elect members to their local Associations and the Associations elect the Executive of the NGC. We pride ourselves on our democratic structure and we strongly recognise that the corporate decisions on the School Governing Body are paramount in expressing views.
