Disability Discrimination Act
On 1 October 2004, the Disability Discrimination Act Part III became law.
In order for the Hospitality industry to make sense of the "reasonable adjustments" the Act requires, the Institute of Hospitality has set up an information centre which can be found at www.hcima.org.uk/dda to help you to understand more about the requirements and how it affects your business.
The Institute of Hospitality intends to continue to support the industry in understanding the legislation and will update the site with news, case studies and revisions to the legislation. Please note however, if you are unsure of the requirements and what to do to ensure that your business is compliant, please do seek specialist advice.
The microsite dedicated to DDA includes details of useful contacts who will be able to help you further.
See www.hcima.org.uk/dda for more information.
