The Confederation of Passenger Transport UK (CPT) is the voice of the road passenger transport industry in the UK, representing bus, coach and light rail operators. CPT is officially recognised by Government and is the principal consultative body on national, local and EU legislative and regulatory matters.

It is also the industry's main link with the media and is regularly approached for comments and facts on topical issues.

CPT is available for radio interviews via ISDN and regularly provides spokesman for television interviews.

CPT works in partnership with, and is consulted by, the UK Government, as well as by the EU and local authorities. It uses these opportunities to press for fair treatment of the local transport industry, and for a full recognition of the essential role these services play in our daily lives.

CPT currently has around 1100 members. These range in size from the UK's largest transport operators, to small family-owned coaching businesses. As well as operators, CPT has a large number of associate members - suppliers of goods and services to the transport industry.
