Business chiefs have warned that company leaders are becoming frustrated with increasing amounts of pan-European social legislation.

The CBI called on Monday for an overhaul of European Union institutions to curb increasing levels of EU regulation in areas such as tax and employment policy.

Forum Response: Institute of Directors

James Walsh, parliamentary and european adviser for the IoD, told ePolitix.com: "The EU is delivering the best of intentions but the worst of outcomes. In just the last few weeks, MEPs and the Council of Ministers have ditched provisions that would have shielded many companies - especially small businesses - from the worst of the regulatory impact. The IoD supports moves to build a pro-business culture in Brussels. After recent events though itlooks like an uphill struggle".
