Forum Brief: Postal protest
Over 1,000 postal workers from all over the UK are heading to London next Wednesday to lobby their MPs.
They are expected to call for daily deliveries to every address in the country to continue and for the government to provide the money to fund a first class public postal service
Forum Response: Communication Workers Union
Billy Hayes, general secretary of the Communication Workers Union, told ePolitix.com: "Our members are going to Westminster to demand that our local MPs put pressure onto the government to save a vital public service. The government owns the Post Office. It can't stand idly by and watch it being underfunded, subjected to needless competition and refused a price rise that could save our members jobs."
