Forum Brief: Contraception court case ruling

The Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child has today failed to end the sale of the morning-after pill in chemists without prescription.

The High Court rejected SPUC's case following a judicial review.

Forum Response: Royal College of Nursing

Shelley Mehigan, former chair of the RCN Sexual Health Forum, told ePolitix.com: "We welcome the judge's ruling in this very important case. Emergency contraception is a safe and effective method for preventing unintended pregnancy after unprotected intercourse or failed contraception and an adverse ruling would have had very serious implications for the sexual health of millions of women."
