Forum Brief: Care homes

Paul Burstow MP, Liberal Democrat spokesman for older people, is today launching a campaign to prevent the closure of care homes for the elderly.

Also attending the launch is David Martin, who appeared in front of five million people on GMTV on last Thursday performing his song "Don't Let Us Down Mr Brown", which aims to highlight the issue of care home closures.

Forum Response: Help the Aged

A spokesperson from Help the Aged told ePolitix.com: "Help the Aged supports the campaign and indeed any effort to communicate the shocking impact that care home closures have on older people. We hope that the government will pay attention to the alarm bells of an under funded social care system as it considers the spending priorities for the future."
