The Communication Workers Union has put its 145,000 members who work in Royal Mail on standby to take part in industrial action on Wednesday March 27.

The union has accused the business of reneging on parts of a pay deal it agreed last week.

Forum Response: Communication Workers UnionJohn Keggie, deputy general secretary of the Communication Workers Union, told ePolitix.com: "These events are extremely disappointing. We have been forced to announce a day of action as a precautionary measure.

"However, the union is prepared to re-enter negotiations immediately in an attempt to resolve the matter."
