Opposition culture spokesmen Tim Yeo and Nick Harvey are among the critics of a BBC2 documentary on paedophilia to be screened in May.

The film reportedly includes scenes from a video made by an offender.

A spokesman for the BBC told ePolitix.com: "We will be warning viewers what to expect. Its in the public interest that viewers understand the nature of the material paedophiles use and distribute.

"The use of the material has been given careful editorial consideration in conjunction with the BBC's producer guidelines. It is now about naming and shaming but contributing to a public debate."
