Forum Brief: European aviation figures

European airlines have recorded the first year-on-year increase in passenger numbers, it was announced yesterday.

According to the Association of European Airlines, passenger numbers across all international flights grew by 0.3 per cent in the week ending February 10 compared with the same week last year.

Forum Response: British Airways

A spokesperson for British Airways told ePolitix.com: "While we continue to be affected by general economic weakness in many of our key markets, recent figures show improving traffic trends. The revenue outlook remains positive, in spite of weak yields, driven by ongoing promotional activity and the adverse mix of premium and non-premium traffic."
