Ministers look to curb out-of-town superstores
The government is cracking down on retailers that put in extra floors to enlarge their superstores.
Ministers are keen to encourage shoppers back into towns and cities.
Keith Hill, planning minister, said: "We want to encourage thriving town centres at the hub of the local community and discourage the out-of-town retail sprawl that was common in the 1980s and '90s."
