Experts ponder transport problems

A committee of experts, including the government's chief scientific adviser, has begun studying how new technologies could solve some of Britain's transport infrastructure problems, ministers will announce today.

The project is part of a series of Foresight studies involving different government departments, and will examine issues including the role of technology in introducing road charging.
