Tories ponder Commons reforms
The Conservatives are considering reducing the number of MPs by a fifth in order to help to restore faith in politics.
The proposal, which produce savings estimated at £25 million a year, is set to form part of the Conservative Party’s manifesto at the next election, and will be included in a policy paper to be published this week by shadow financial secretary Andrew Tyrie.
