Lords reject home sellers' packs
Peers have voted against forcing home sellers' to provide comprehensive information on the condition of their property.
The government was defeated by 179 to 132 during the final third reading stage of its Housing Bill yesterday.
A group of Conservative, Liberal Democrat and independent peers objected to making sellers pay around £1,000 for an information pack containing searches, surveys and a home condition report before placing properties on the market.
