US gambling chief lobbied No 10

The boss of the world’s largest slot-machine company visited Downing Street this year to lobby the government to relax its gambling laws.

The meeting took place shortly before ministers announced major changes to the Gambling Bill, says the Times.

Thomas Baker, chairman of International Game Technology, the world's largest slot-machine manufacturer, made the visit at the start of the year after the company announced plans for a massive expansion in the UK.
