Crossrail threatened by funding problems
"Fundamental affordability concerns" need to be resolved before Crossrail can proceed, according to a study commissioned by the government.
Ministers confirmed that a Bill would be introduced to take powers to build Crossrail, but no agreement had been reached on how to pay for it.
The study concluded that the £10 billion scheme would bring huge benefits to the Capital by easing congestion on London Underground and allowing faster journeys between the eastern and western suburbs and central London.
