Mayor makes case for first-past-the-post
The re-elected mayor of London has come out in favour of using a first-past-the-post electoral system in the Capital.
Ken Livingstone used his first weekly press conference since his triumph in the poll last week to call for the complicated first and second preference format to be scrapped.
He blamed confusion for more than 200,000 ballot papers being ruled inadmissible in the election.
