Iraq crisis sparks leadership debate

The latest allegations coming out of Iraq have sparked renewed questions about Tony Blair's future as Labour leader.

Following contradictory statements from ministers about who knew what and when, the prime minister is "struggling to avoid a collapse in confidence" in his leadership reports the Telegraph.

Labour MPs said the latest confusion about when ministers were made aware of Iraqi abuse claims underlined the prime minister's failure to get a grip of the crisis.
