There are even more train delays under Network Rail than under Railtrack, according to figures seen by the Times.

The figures show that Network Rail was responsible for 13.7 million minutes of delays in the 12 months to March 31.

In Railtrack’s last year, the 12 months to October 2002 which it spent in administration after the government withdrew support, it caused 12.8 million minutes of delays.
