PM nominates Jackson for peerage
The prime minister has nominated Sir Ken Jackson to be a working peer, it has been reported.
As joint general secretary of the Amicus trade union, Jackson was a Blair loyalist, but was implicated in a ballot rigging scandal during an unsuccessful re-election fight.
The Guardian reports that if Jackson is nominated, left-wingers at Amicus could move to cut the union's donations to Labour.
Number 10's list of new working peers is expected to be published shortly.
