The lord chancellor has been censured for suspending a whistle-blower who gave evidence to MPs about the failings of the government’s child-protection agency.

The Commons standards and privileges committee ruled yesterday that Lord Falconer had committed a contempt of parliament in suspending Judy Weleminsky from the board of the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service.
