Small turnout in hospital poll
Just 20,000 people voted in elections for control of the first 10 foundation hospitals, serving more than two million NHS patients, according to a survey for today's Society Guardian.
In the 10 trusts that gained foundation status last week, less than one per cent of potential electors actually voted.
