Paul Geroski has been appointed as the new chairman of the Competition Commission.

Professor Geroski, a deputy chairman of the Commission, will be paid £150,000 a year for the full-time position.

He succeeds Sir Derek Morris, who is stepping down to become Provost of Oriel College, Oxford.
