Rail unions in strike ballot
The first national train strike since privatisation was threatened by two unions yesterday because of a pay and pensions dispute with Network Rail.
The RMT union and the Transport and Salaried Staffs Association are to start procedures to ballot 11,000 signallers, maintenance and administrative workers on walk-outs that could begin next month.
