IDS verdict expected shortly

The results of a five-month inquiry by parliament’s watchdog into Iain Duncan Smith’s use of Commons allowances will be received by MPs within 24 hours.

The Commons standards and privileges committee will meet on Tuesday to consider Sir Philip Mawer's report, but it is not expected to be published for at least a week.

The Telegraph says the former Tory leader is likely to escape censure.
