Government set to endorse GM crops
The Cabinet has decided to allow genetically modified crops to be produced commercially for the first time in Britain.
According to the Times, environment secretary Margaret Beckett will give the go-ahead on Tuesday for commercial production of a single GM product — named Chardon LL (Liberty Link) T25 — a maize developed by Bayer.
