A High Court judge has heavily criticised delays in the asylum appeals process.

Speaking yesterday, Mr Justice Collins said this "unfortunate habit" was often a means of delaying the "inevitable" deportation of the applicant.

His comments came as he told an Iranian national that his legal challenge had "gone on long enough".
