Spain rocked by bomb blasts
Spain has suffered its worst ever terrorist attack - leaving the country in mourning just 48 hours from the general election.
A series of attacks on the rail network in Madrid left over 190 dead and more than 1,400 injured.
Whilst the Spanish government initially sought to blame Basque separatist group Eta for the blasts, later evidence suggested al Qaeda could have been responsible.
"We think there are more possibilities it is Eta than any other organisation," said a Spanish government spokesman.
Around the world, political leaders offered their sympathies to the families of those dead and injured.
The prime minister said: "This terrible attack underlines the threat that we all continue to face from terrorism in many countries and why we all must work together."
Meanwhile Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams went public to condemn the "atrocity".
Today's Telegraph describes the 10 bomb blasts as "butchery on a brutal scale".
The Express asks whether Britain could be the next target of a major terrorist outrage.
