Candidates shortlisted for top BBC job
The shortlist of candidates for the chairmanship of the BBC has been leaked to the Times.
The broadcaster David Dimbleby and former BBC executive, Michael Grade, are joined on the list by Richard Lambert, the former editor of the FT, and Patricia Hodgson, former chief executive of the Independent Television Commission.
The two outsiders are Lord Watson of Richmond, a Liberal Democrat peer and former BBC presenter, and Baroness Young, the chief executive of the Environment Agency.
They will be interviewed next week by a panel chaired by Sue Street, permanent secretary at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
