BBC facing reforms after Charter review

The BBC could be broken up or have to share its licence fee with other broadcasters in measures to be considered by ministers.

Proposals put together by civil servants and consultants also suggest taking the BBC governors “outside” the corporation and giving the new communications regulator Ofcom a larger role in supervising the BBC, according to a report in the Times.
