MPs criticise Food Agency

MPs on the environment, food and rural affairs committee have heavily criticised the Food Standards Agency over its handling of a health scare involving toxins in shellfish.

The committee said that the agency caused "very real and unnecessary damage" on the shellfish industry by closing cockle beds without consultation.
