Councils cut charity donations
Local Authorities are cutting funds to voluntary groups and small charities to keep council-tax rises down and avoid government capping, reports the Times.
Meanwhile, a survey published by the Local Government Chronicle revealed that three quarters of unitary authorities and 70 per cent of county councils are planning to raise council tax charges by more than five per cent.
