Treasury delays Crossrail report

A report that is expected to approve Crossrail has been delayed because of Treasury concerns over the potential cost.

Today's Times reports that the Treasury does not agree with proposals from Adrian Montague, author of the report, which would see it pay substantially more than £2 billion towards the cost.

Last night, transport secretary Alistair Darling cancelled a meeting with MPs who are interested in Crossrail.
