Dr Zhivago has topped a poll of MPs favourite films. The David Lean epic won 14 per cent of the vote, beating Lawrence of Arabia into second place.

Labour MPs favoured films that focus on the working classes such as Brassed Off and Ghandi.

Conservatives opted for military based dramas with Zulu being their preference. Brief Encounter proved to be the most popular among Liberal Democrats.
