Ministers to unveil Lords reform Bill
The government's bill on reform of the House of Lords will be published next week.
The Telegraph reports that the legislation "is almost certain" to be drafted in a way that will prevent MPs from tabling an amendment calling for the Lords to be wholly elected.
MPs and peers will instead be allowed to debate only the removal of the 92 remaining hereditary peers in the Lords and the creation of an independent appointments commission.
