Ministers lobby for British firms in Iraq
The government is making a behind-the-scenes effort to lobby Washington over the failure of British firms to win reconstruction work in Iraq.
Brian Wilson, the prime minister's special representative on overseas trade, and Mike O'Brien, the international trade minister, are both visiting Washington next week. Briefing papers seen by the Guardian reveal the government's frustration over British companies missing out.
