UK productivity better than predicted

UK productivity is higher than previously thought, according to revised figures published yesterday.

In 2002, British productivity was 12.8 per cent lower than the average of the G7 nations, compared to the 16.5 per cent gap estimated six months ago.

The figures show a closing in the gap between the US and UK, and places Britain in a better position than Germany.
