Rifkind set for Chelsea return
Sir Malcolm Rifkind, the former Conservative defence secretary, has made it on to the final shortlist for the safe seat of Kensington and Chelsea.
His main rival will be Nick Hurd, son of the former foreign secretary, Lord Hurd of Westwell.
Meanwhile Tory chairman Liam Fox has launched an "audit" of candidates in marginal seats.
