Baker rejects BBC process
Lord Baker of Dorking, the former Conservative home secretary, has refused to join a panel of privy counsellors charged with scrutinising the process of selecting the new BBC chairman.
Lord Baker said he believed that the work of the panel, which would be unable to advise on the person to be appointed, would be too limited.
