The Financial Times reports that the European Commission is considering plans to label products "Made in the EU" rather than referring to individual member states.

The commission "believes that an EU origin marking scheme has, in principle, several merits and that the feasibility of such a scheme should be pursued further", according to an internal document seen by the newspaper.
