Ministers concede over planning rule changes

Ministers have conceded to the House of Lords and agreed that regional planning bodies, comprising of business leaders and councillors, would now be required by law to consult with county councils and others when considering cases.

The Planning Bill was originally intended to remove county councils from the planning process, in a bid to speed it up.
