Steve Norris, the Conservative candidate for mayor of London, has said he is proud to be chairman of the rail company Jarvis.

Interviewed in today's Times, he says: "As it happens, I am proud of the company that I chair. I believe that their reputation is not justified, but I understand why those reputations are occasionally garnered and therefore part of my job is to ensure that we change that to some degree."
