Honours leak sparks inquiry
The government has ordered a leak inquiry after a memo containing minutes of an honours scrutiny committee meeting was leaked to a Sunday newspaper.
The memo has sparked a fresh "cronyism" row, with Anthony Giddens, Michael Grade and Allan Leighton all in line for a gong.
The FT reports that the document exposes the "Buggins turn" nature of the honours system.
