The Conservatives have announced plans to scrap national pay agreements in favour of local hospital deals with staff.

Shadow health and education secretary Tim Yeo said he wanted to give every hospital the power individually to set pay and conditions for their staff.

The move was strongly criticised by health professionals and union leaders.
