Former foreign secretary Robin Cook yesterday stepped up his attacks on Tony Blair.

He accused the prime minister of setting a dangerous precedent with the war on Iraq by justifying it on humanitarian grounds.

Cook compared the war with Hitler's annexation of what was then Czechoslovakia.
