Tube action to be unveiled
Union leaders will today announce what industrial action will be taken over safety standards on London Underground.
The RMT union is likely to announce a series of go-slows, with workers driving trains at speeds of just 10 mph on lines where staff have safety concerns.
"We regret the disruption this will inevitably cause Tube users, but we hope they will continue to show their understanding that these actions are being taken for safety reasons," said general secretary Bob Crow.
But shadow transport secretary Damian Green criticised the move.
"Strike action will not help in addressing safety issues on the Tube but instead will infuriate millions of passengers," he said.
