MPs have called for radical measures to curb gun crime and end Britain's firearms culture.

A report from the all-party parliamentary group on gun crime urges ministers to make more armed police available to confront the threat from criminals with guns.

Left wing Labour MP Diane Abbott, who chairs the group, has said her decision to send her son to a private school "was not unrelated to issues around gun crime" in her Hackney constituency.
