BBC decides post-Hutton changes

The BBC is set to introduce key reforms following the Hutton inquiry into the death of Dr David Kelly.

Gavyn Davies, the BBC's chairman, revealed that the board of governors had asked senior management to consider changes to complaints procedures and editorial practice for controversial stories such as freelance writing and the sourcing of news stories.

The corporation's news channel, News 24, has also received a revamp.

Bosses said the channel will pursue a determinedly "broadsheet" news agenda.
