Brown 'ignored' over Holyrood plans
Gordon Brown was ignored by officials in Edinburgh when he attempted to reduce costs of the new Scottish parliament.
Former Scottish minister Sam Galbraith told the inquiry into the fiasco that the chancellor's suggestion that an existing be used was dismissed.
Ministers instead decided that the parliament needed a new building of "stature" rather than a "cheap" alternative.
